Safety & Security films are thick, multi-layered Mylar polyester films laminated with a very strong pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side and a durable scratch-resistant coating on the other. Security window films are designed to hold glass pieces together in the event of accidental or deliberate impact on the glass.

There are slight differences between the products. Safety films provide a barrier between the broken glass and the occupants. This is especially important in a home or daycare scenario, where both children and adults could be injured by glass that has been broken.

Security film, while providing this same barrier, is available in much thicker products to help deter break-ins. The security films can also help protect occupants from broken glass that is caused by flying debris during extremely high winds or tornado’s. Both the safety and security films are available in either clear or reflective material.
